K League 1 2026: FC Seoul are champions with five games to spare

K League 1 is the top division of South Korean football, founded in 1983, and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors hold the record for most titles. Twelve teams play 33 rounds, then the league splits into a championship group of six and a relegation group of six for five more rounds.

FC Seoul have 67 points after 33 rounds, 16 ahead of Ulsan, which means the title is already theirs, their first since 2016. They won 20 games, scored 61 goals and conceded only 29, both the best in the league. Ulsan, Daejeon Citizen, Jeonbuk and Gangwon, separated by three points, are fighting for the remaining places in the AFC Champions League.

Gwangju are bottom with 21 points, 11 behind Bucheon FC 1995, after conceding 69 goals.

S. Mugoša of Incheon United is the top scorer with 11 goals, ahead of Ulsan's Yago Cariello on ten.
