Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 September 2026
ScoreInPlay ('we', 'the site') does not require an account and does not knowingly collect personal information to identify you. This page explains what little data the site does process, and why.
What we collect
We don't ask for your name, email, or any account details — there is no sign-up on ScoreInPlay. A few optional preferences are stored only in your own browser's local storage and never sent to us as personal data: your light/dark theme choice, and any teams, leagues or players you mark as favourites.
When you vote in a match poll ('Who will win?'), your browser generates a random, anonymous token stored in local storage so you can't vote twice on the same match — it isn't linked to your name, email or any other identifying information. Your IP address is checked briefly by our server at the moment you vote, purely to stop automated spam voting from the same address; it is held in memory for at most 24 hours and is never written to our database or linked to your vote.
Cookies
ScoreInPlay does not set any cookies. The local-storage preferences described above stay on your device and are never read by us directly — they're just re-sent by your own browser back to the same pages next time you visit.
Third-party services
Match, league and player data is provided by API-Football, a third-party sports data provider. The site is served through Cloudflare, which provides content delivery and security filtering and, as part of that, processes visitor IP addresses under its own privacy policy.
ScoreInPlay doesn't currently run analytics or advertising on the site. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated first to describe exactly what's added and how it works.
Children's privacy
ScoreInPlay is a general-audience sports site and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If ScoreInPlay's data practices change — for example if analytics, advertising, or an account system is added — this page will be updated to reflect that before the change goes live.
Contact
ScoreInPlay doesn't yet have a dedicated contact channel set up. Given how little data the site processes — none of it tied to your identity — there's currently nothing to request access to, correct, or delete. That said, we intend to add a proper contact method soon; this section will be updated once it's live.
