FranceLigue 1 2026/27: five clubs level on 14 points, Lyon top on goal difference
Ligue 1 is France's top division, played since 1932, and Paris Saint-Germain are its most successful club. Eighteen teams meet home and away over 34 rounds. The top three go straight into the Champions League league phase and fourth into its qualifying round, with the following places leading to the Europa League and Conference League. The 16th-placed side faces a relegation play-off against a Ligue 2 club and the bottom two are relegated.
After seven rounds five clubs are level on 14 points. Lyon, 2-1 winners over Nice, are top on goal difference ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, who won 3-1 in Strasbourg, Paris FC, who beat Rennes 4-3, Lille and Monaco, whose 1-0 defeat at Lorient was their first of the season. Rennes are sixth on 13 with the most goals, 15, and Lyon and Lille have the best defences, five conceded each. Marseille won 5-2 in Angers and are ninth.
Le Havre are bottom with two points and no win yet after a 3-1 home defeat to Auxerre, and Troyes are 17th after five defeats in a row. Le Mans, beaten 3-0 by Toulouse, are in the play-off place.
Florian Thauvin of Lens has the most assists, six, ahead of Toulouse's Cristian Cásseres with five.
