EnglandPremier League 2026/27: Manchester City make it seven wins from seven
The Premier League is England's top division, founded in 1992 when the top clubs broke away from the Football League, and Manchester United are its most successful club. Twenty teams meet home and away over 38 rounds. The top four qualify for the Champions League league phase, with further European places for the clubs just below, and the bottom three are relegated to the Championship. This season's promoted sides are Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City.
Manchester City have won all seven games, the latest 3-2 against Ipswich, and are now the only unbeaten side. Arsenal, 1-0 winners at Nottingham Forest, are three points behind with the best defence, five goals conceded, and Brighton are third on 16 after beating Crystal Palace 5-0, with the league's best attack, 23 goals. Chelsea won 2-0 at Everton and are fourth, and Liverpool, 2-1 winners at Brentford, are fifth but still without a home win.
At the bottom, Tottenham are the only side yet to win and have scored three goals in six games. Fulham and Bournemouth won for the first time, against Hull and Sunderland, who are 19th. Of the promoted clubs, Hull are ninth, Ipswich tenth and Coventry 16th with a game in hand.
Erling Haaland leads the scoring charts with eight goals in seven games, ahead of Chelsea's João Pedro and Liverpool's Alexander Isak with five. Pascal Groß, Evanilson and Declan Rice have four assists each.
