Süper Lig 2026/27: Galatasaray two points clear before Trabzonspor host Beşiktaş

The Süper Lig is Turkey's top division, founded in 1959, and Galatasaray are its most successful club. Eighteen teams meet home and away over 34 rounds. The champions go straight into the Champions League league phase and the runners-up into its qualifiers, with further places leading to the Europa League and Conference League qualifiers. The bottom three are relegated to the 1. Lig.

After eight rounds Galatasaray lead with 19 points after a 1-0 win at Gençlerbirliği, two ahead of Amed, who beat Konyaspor 1-0 and have won all five home games, and three ahead of Fenerbahçe, 3-0 winners over Alanyaspor and the league's most productive attack with 22 goals. Beşiktaş (15 points) and Trabzonspor (13), both with a game in hand and perfect home records, still have to meet in Trabzon; Trabzonspor have the best defence, five goals conceded.

At the bottom, Eyüpspor have three points, have scored only two goals while conceding 22 and have lost five in a row, as have Samsunspor, beaten 4-1 at Kasımpaşa. Konyaspor complete the relegation zone.

Amed's Gift Orban, Fenerbahçe's Vedat Muriqi, Trabzonspor's Mohamed Salah and Başakşehir's Eldor Shomurodov share the scoring lead with seven goals each.
