Veikkausliiga 2026: Inter Turku lose but stay a point ahead of HJK and KuPS

The Veikkausliiga is Finland's top division, and HJK Helsinki are its most successful club. Twelve teams play 22 rounds, after which the league splits into a championship group and a relegation group of six. KuPS are the defending champions after winning the 2025 title ahead of Inter Turku.

Inter Turku lost 2-1 at home to AC Oulu but still lead the championship group with 52 points after 28 games, a point ahead of HJK, who beat Gnistan 4-0, and KuPS, 2-0 winners over VPS. KuPS topped the table after the first 22 rounds.

In the relegation group, Mariehamn are bottom with 19 points after a 1-1 draw with FF Jaro, who are fifth.

HJK's Mads Borchers leads the scoring charts with 13 goals, ahead of Ilves' Teemu Hytönen with nine.
