NetherlandsEredivisie 2026/27: unbeaten Feyenoord lead, champions PSV a point behind
The Eredivisie is the top division in the Netherlands, founded in 1956, and Ajax are its most successful club. Eighteen teams meet home and away over 34 rounds. The champions go straight into the Champions League league phase, the runners-up into its qualifiers and third place into the Europa League qualifiers, while the next four play off for a Conference League place. The bottom two are relegated to the Eerste Divisie and 16th place goes into a play-off. PSV are the defending champions: they won the 2025/26 title with 84 points and 101 goals, while Feyenoord's Ayase Ueda was the top scorer with 25.
After eight rounds Feyenoord lead on 20 points. They are the only unbeaten side, have won all four away games and have scored the most goals, 27. PSV and AZ are a point behind, and Twente, fourth, have won all four home games. Ajax are fifth: they have won all three away games but only one of five at home.
Willem II are bottom with two points and ADO Den Haag 17th, both still without a win, while PEC Zwolle, in the play-off place, have lost all four home games.
Go Ahead Eagles' Søren Tengstedt leads the scoring charts with six goals. Five players have five, among them Feyenoord's Gjivai Zechiël, who also has four assists, and Excelsior's Irakli Yegoian has the most assists, five.
