ScotlandScottish Premiership 2026/27: Celtic lead, Rangers on a five-game winning run
The Scottish Premiership is Scotland's top division, formed in 2013, and Celtic and Rangers have won the large majority of Scottish titles. Twelve teams play 33 rounds, after which the league splits into a top six and a bottom six for five more games. The bottom club is relegated and 11th place goes into a play-off. Celtic are the defending champions: they won the 2025/26 title by two points from Heart of Midlothian, who had led after the first 33 rounds.
After eight rounds Celtic lead with 21 points and have won all four away games. Rangers are two points behind after five straight wins, and Hearts are third on 16, with a perfect home record and the league's best attack, 19 goals.
Kilmarnock are bottom with five points and have conceded 18 goals, the most in the league. Falkirk are 11th, and Hibernian, who finished fifth last season, are tenth.
St Johnstone's Fowler leads the scoring charts with five goals. Celtic's Camilo Durán and Benjamin Nygren have four goals and three assists each, and Hearts' Joshua McPake has the most assists, four.
