Liga Portugal 2

Liga Portugal 2: unbeaten Lusitânia Lourosa lead after seven rounds

Liga Portugal 2 is the second tier of Portuguese football: 18 clubs play each other home and away over 34 rounds. The top two are promoted to the Primeira Liga and third place goes into a promotion play-off against the Primeira Liga's 16th-placed side. At the bottom, 16th place faces a relegation play-off and the last two drop to Liga 3. Reserve sides such as Sporting CP B, Benfica B and FC Porto B take part but are not eligible for promotion to the Primeira Liga.

After seven rounds Lusitânia Lourosa are top with 17 points and are still unbeaten, having won all three of their away games. Sporting CP B are second on 15, ahead of Farense (14), Penafiel and Benfica B (13 each). Penafiel have the most productive attack with 14 goals, while Lourosa and Benfica B have conceded only five each. Tondela and AVS, who met in the Primeira Liga last season, are 7th and 12th.

Feirense are bottom with a single point and have scored only two goals, with Chaves and Amarante, both on five points, just above them.
